The Big Picture - October 2025

In Isaiah 55, God reveals things about Himself that shows He’s smarter than us. I know that if we were asked, we would say that He is smarter. But many times, our actions do not reflect that belief. We continue with certain ways of thinking. Or we continue to do the same things repeatedly. And we don’t even take the time to ask, “Father God, do you have a better way?”

Let’s read Isaiah 55:8-9. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” God is saying I don’t think like you. I don’t even do things the same way. Our issue is we don’t see The Big Picture. In our blog for the next couple of months we are going to look at this series. It will help us to see things the way He sees things, to find out what is truly important - to see The Big Picture.

It is so easy to get caught up in our own life. I must do this. I must do that. Run, run, run. Go, go, go. Me, me, me. It’s all about me. Unfortunately, when we do this, we become too focused on the little or the unimportant. We know our Father is interested in the little things in our life. It is a revelation that has set us free in times past. But we must also recognize that there is a ditch in that way of thinking that can hinder us.

The Kingdom of God and it’s operation has never been selfish. In our oft spoken definition of love we say, “Love joyfully chooses to take an action that promotes the welfare of another.” You see? God’s Kingdom operates on love. Jesus, our Lord and Savior, came and gave His life for us. He came with our best interests in mind. And our “me” thinking is thinking too small.

We limit God when we think too small. God is a God that’s more than enough. He is the Almighty God, El Shaddai. Let’s not limit the scope of His power in our life by thinking too small.

Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” First of all, let’s see we have a God who is able. There is nothing too small or too big that He can’t handle. His power is more than able to turn the most desperate situation around. But we also see in this verse that the might power of God works through us. It said, ‘according to the power that worketh in us.’ Hallelujah! The power of God works in us. So, let’s turn our attention to the One that can do ‘exceeding abundantly above’ our ways.
